Singapore Universal Studios Ride Guide

My visit to Singapore Universal Studios was absolutely magical. Though there was a lot more to experience in the park than the rides, here’s my guide to all the roller coasters, lazy rides and experiences in this beautiful place. I hope this will help you prioritize your rides there! Do let me know if you agree with my picks 🙂

New York

  1. Sesame Street Spaghetti Chase Good for kids
This ride isn’t for you if you’re a thrill seeker, but it would be a great experience for kids. You go on a space mission through a dark tunnel to bring back a bowl of spaghetti.
  2. Lights Camera Action Recommended
This is definitely a great experience. You get to experience how special effects of a hurricane are created in movies, and it was so realistic!

Sci-Fi City

  1. Batalstar Galactica: Human vs Cyclon – Must-do
This is basically 2 rides under one name. You can go on either the Human side (Red) or the Cyclon side (Blue). Both the rides are almost equally thrilling, so if you have the time, go on both! The Cyclon side was slightly more exciting because it was a suspended ride.

  2. Transformers The Ride – Must-do
This ride was a different experience altogether. This ride depicts a 3-D battle, where Optimus Prime and the Autobots are trying to get us to safety. It was very thrilling, especially one drop towards the end!
  3. Accelerator Can skip
The accelerator is just a spinning ride, like the cup-and-saucer or Tora Tora. You sit in one of the many cups, and your cup, as well as the base disk rotates. I’ve done these rides to death so wasn’t very excited about it, but if you’ve never been on something like that, give it a try.

Ancient Egypt

  1. Treasure Hunters – Good for kids
In this ride, kids get to (pretend) drive a jeep around a lake.
  2. Revenge of the Mummy – Must-do
This is a high-speed roller coaster in complete darkness! It’s a lot of fun, and you should definitely do it if you like high-thrill rides.

The Lost World

  1. Canopy Flyer – Recommended
In this, you soar over Jurassic Park in a suspended ride.
  2. Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure – Recommended
This is a river rafting ride in which you’ll definitely get wet, so try to keep it towards the end.

Far Far Away

  1. Shrek 4-D Adventure – Recommended
There’s nothing too exciting about this, but it was fun to see all the characters of Shrek again in this short 4-D story.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t go on any of the other rides from this section, because the park was way too crowded by the time we got here. But I am glad we finished all the high-thrill rides before.

Madagascar

  1. Madagascar – A Crate Adventure – Good for kids
This is a very lazy ride in which you ride a boat through a tunnel. Along the walls are all the Madagascar characters, with some of their famous scenes and dialogues recreated. It’s a good way to wind down after all the rides, and go on a nostalgic journey with some of your favorite characters.

Apart from the rides, there was so much more to see in the park! There are lost of street shows that you should try and catch. We saw Waterworld (The Lost World), which was based on a blockbuster by the same name, and the dance performance by the Rockafellas (New York). And there are so many meet-and-greets happening across the park with famous characters. If you’re in Singapore, do not miss out on the magical world created in Universal Studios. Go and have the time of your life!
